At Skill Set Training Group, LLC, we are committed to providing the best training around. We offer courses created for large groups or private groups of all skill levels. This course is for anyone who is considering to own, or does own a firearm, and plans to carry or have in their possession for self defense. We will cover everything from MI carry laws, to the fundamentals of a firearm, and the safe handling, respect and responsibility firearms deserve. COURSES WE OFFER
CPL CLASS
$100 per person • Gun rental available
- 8 hour course
This course is an excellent way for participants to learn a new skill or continue expanding an existing skill and to reach the requirements needed to apply for your CPL. You will walk out well versed in gun safety and handling, MI CPL laws, and confident in personal protection. As one of the most popular courses we offer, there are classes available on weekends to fit your schedule. CPL PRIVATE CLASS
$125 per person • Gun rental available
- 8 hour course
This class offers the same instruction as our classroom size course but for those who want to go through the course with their family or friends.
SHOTGUN CLASS
$100 per person
- 4 hour course

RIFLE CLASS
$100 per person
- 4 hour course

Important information
All classes include a 1 year MCRGO membership
For private sessions please message us to set up a class date
Shotgun and rifle courses are also available upon request, please message us to set up a class date
Gun rentals are available, you will be responsible for providing the ammunition, we will advise on what type of ammunition you will need
50 rounds of ammunition will be required to complete this course
This is a full 8 hour course day
Coffee and water will be provided, you will want to pack a lunch or bring snacks
You will receive a certification of completion immediately following a completed course
You will be eligible to apply for a CPL as soon as the course is completed
You have 5 years from course completion date to apply for a CPL
You do not need experience with firearms to take this course
Eye and ear protection are required.
Wear appropriate clothing, classroom work will be held inside - range work will be held outside. Prepare for the weather! Even in warm weather you will want to wear closed toed shoes, and attire that covers your neck and legs, a brimmed hat is also suggested
You will feel comfortable taking this course whether you are an experienced gun owner or have never had any experience at all. We will take the time with individuals to make sure when you leave this course, you feel confident!
All students will learn MI laws pertaining to the use of handguns and self-defense, levels of awareness, defensive marksmanship, and how to deal with the aftermath of a traumatic experience.

As the lead instructor, Joe has extensive training in gun safety and handling, as well as personal protection, and MI CPL laws. Joe has over 18 years law enforcement experience and is a current police pistol, shotgun and rifle instructor.
